Hydraulic oil for old Michigan 75 loader

 · The 75A loader had different engine options than the 75III. Mine is the General Motors version with the inline 4-53 diesel 2-cycle engine. But I'm sure you're right about both machines using the same hydraulic oil. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Front end loader

 · Not sure about your F20D, but do know that some of the F series have a dedicated pump for the power steering so adding a loader would have no effect on your power steering. Here is a picture of an FX24D showing the power steering pump in front and the main hydraulic pump in rear.

The loader replaces the the 770A & 770B loaders, therefore it should be compatible with your . Will probably require some minor modifications. Make sure you get all the mounting hardware with it.

 · I have an old Michigan loader with the 3-53 Detroit. It runs good, everything works like it should for a fifty year old machine, but I can't keep it ideling. I've adjusted the valves and what not according to the service manual but the idle speed screw doesn't seem to do anything.

 · As far as loaders in the late 80's/90's, just check for tightness and have a oil sample taken. Sometimes you can buy a low hour machine that just seems like a complete pile of junk. Considering the average snow use is only a few hundred hours a year at most, even a slightly higher hour machine in good shape isn't a bad purchase.

Loader problem

 · The one we had on our case at the ranch used the tractor's system. Trace lines to be sure because people add things all the time. Now on my old Ford 730 loader the frame is the oil tank and the suction filter is in the left pillar and the return is on the right one. Makes telling interns to check the hydraulics on the loader fun.
